Blues Hat as MC Blackwolf presents:
style: a 7songs mixtape

This was my first work as MC Blackwolf. I had been looking for producers to produce a hip-hop EP, but sadly because people were busy/lazy/dead I couldn't pull it together like I wanted. I decided to instead make a mixtape with non-original beats. That's right, I ripped all of these beats off. Not one of them did I have the rights to use. I will give credit as best as possible. This was also my first CD with discrepancies between the liner notes and the actual cds.

01 - 0dysfuntion - I made a typo and accidentally put a zero in front of the title for this one, but liked it so it stayed. Its still pronounced the same as "dysfunction"

02 - them bones - I have an affinity for using nursery rhymes in my songs.

03 - hip-hop confession - Was going to be titled haiku hurricane because I have a different track I wanted to call hip-hop confession.

04 - aint got - I really liked the flow of this one, it was one of the first I fully memorised.

05 - #1 hit - Should have been track 6. It would have worked better with the lyrics.

06 - Blackwolf

07 - What did I do to deserve this?

08 - Master of Ceremonies

09 - style - This is a really old recording that was the basis for this entire EP. It was recorded for Xsongs in Ydays: a 7songs sketchbook.

B-Sides:

x1 - revolver - This song dropped out at the last minute. I think it was one of the better songs on the CD. I don't know why I decided to cut it.

x2 - when you're low - This got cut because I used the beat for a different song.

x3 - the donkey blues - This is something I was working on at the same time as this CD a split EP with Donkey Punch Starship, entitled candiru. That was before we started hating each other. That's him that I sampled in the background. The instrumental is from Dr. Bob's free bears.

x4 - hate - This is a song that I am both proud of and ashamed of. This is a direct result of a conflict that I had with a fellow musician, a former friend of mine, and a large part of the reason we are no longer friends. The things I say in this song are inexcusable. That being said, both of the other people involved had been dicks to me for a great part of our friendship and the things that he said that provoked this retort were very vicious. It is still inexcusable to allow hate to control me this much.

Liner notes: Comming soon.

Lyrics: Comming soon.

The beats were taken from: The Roots, 50 Cent - The Massacre, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, LL Cool J, Jay-Z and Dr. Dre except where otherwise mentioned. List of samples: Bob Odenkirk sampled from Mr. Show episode 103, Michael Ian Black from the Stella stand up special, Gary Farmer and Johnny Depp speaking and Neil Young playing guitar from Jim Jarmusch's Dead Man, Kiefer Sutherland and unkown female actress from 24.

The discrepancies are as follows: There is a track listed as track 6 called "haiku hurricane" on the mixtape which is actually an alternate title for "hip-hop confession", and there was originally going to be a track entitled "revolver" on this mixtape at track 5, but I ganked it at the last minute making the quote "track 1's pretty fly, but track 6 is the shit" incorrect, because that track ("#1 hit") is actually track 5. "Revolver" will be on my next mixtape. Also I used the same flow for a WPHS track which you can find on the band's myspace.

Thanks: MC Blackwolf would like to thank all of the people who's music I ganked. Also John Foreman and Rikki Morris for giving their positive feedback almost immediately after I gave them a copy.
